Board & Structure
1.5mm grayboard is usually enough for a pillar candle's cylindrical or tall-format box, since the wax itself adds structural weight the box doesn't need to fight against.
Surface Material
Art paper or a matte kraft wrap both work well here; taller panels give more room for a full illustrated wrap if the brand wants the box itself to carry the scent story.
Signature Finishing
Debossing reads especially well on a tall pillar box because the eye travels down the panel — a single debossed wordmark running the height of the box is a signature look for this shape.
